Good Morning MMR!

Today we recognize International Human Rights Day, an annual worldwide celebration marking the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10th 1948. This document affirms the fundamental rights and freedom inherent to every person, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you believe.

To highlight this important day, the Advocates of Equity have created posters for each of the Declarations displayed around the school. At lunch or during a period off, we encourage you to take part in our Human Rights Scavenger Hunt! Look for the posters, scan the QR codes, and answer the questions for a chance to win prizes! This activity is a fun way to learn about the rights that help protect us, from the right to life, liberty, education, and security.

As we take time today to explore these rights, remember that building a just and equitable community starts with everyday actions such as speaking up, supporting each other, and choosing empathy even when it's difficult.

Let's keep working together to make our school a place where everyone feels valued and heard.

We hope you have a great day MMR!

GSA - The Gender-Sexuality Alliance

is meeting today at lunch in Room 323. ALL ARE WELCOME! Come down to check it out, get involved in our school community or just sit back and relax. Email Broadwell at broadwelld@hdsb.ca if you have any questions.

The MMR 2025-2026 school yearbook is being sold through School Cash Online until December 19, 2025. There is no extension to this deadline. The cost is $40. The MMR yearbook is student-driven. Our students make every effort to ensure its accuracy, and to include everyone in our MMR community.  In the event of any omission or error, we appreciate your understanding and will refund the $40 upon return of the yearbook to our Business Manager in the main office. We also want to highlight that the yearbook will include the student’s last name, and first initial.  Should you have a preferred/different first initial for the yearbook, please send your request via email to leea@hdsb.ca by Friday December 19, 2025. As well, please know that the Pegasus photo taken in the fall will be the photo included in the yearbook. Student photos will not be included in the yearbook if parents have indicated as such in the registration forms submitted to the school in September. • Final Evaluations start at 8:30 am each day of the schedule.

Public Health Immunization Student Record - Reminder

Over the holidays is a great time to update your mandatory immunization records with Public Health if not done so already to avoid a mandatory school suspension in the New Year.  Student immunization records can be viewed and updated online through Immunization Connect Ontario (ICON), available at halton.ca/immunize

***NOTE: ICON PINs expire when a student turns 16 years old and will need to be reset. In these cases, students should connect with halton.ca/immunize and follow the instructions for resetting a PIN. Students with incomplete records are encouraged to receive missing vaccine doses through their health care provider, or at a Public Health Community Immunization Clinic. Required vaccines are free of charge.  Parents with questions about their child’s record are encouraged to call 311 to speak to a public health nurse. If the student is 16/16+ the student is encouraged to call 311 themselves. Alternatively, if consent is provided by the student, the parent or guardian can speak on the student’s behalf. Information about vaccine exemption can be found at halton.ca/immunize

For more general information about Immunization in Ontario - see this Ministry of Health Informative Flier.  Additional Language Translations can be found on the Ministry website linked here.  For further inquiries, please consider:
